YOUR NEXT CHAPTER · CLASSES XI–XII

School is one chapter.
There’s a world after it.

You do not need a single perfect career plan. You need a few options worth understanding and a next step worth taking.

YOUR OPTIONS, A LITTLE CLEARER

Start with a direction.
Stay open to discovery.

Science & technology

Technology & engineering

Explore engineering branches, computing, data, mathematics and related applied disciplines.

Degrees · Diplomas · Project portfolios

Some routes to explore

  • Engineering degrees
  • Computer applications where eligible
  • Pure science & mathematics
  • Technical diplomas

A small experiment

Try a short coding or electronics project before committing to a specialisation.

Eligibility varies widely: a computing course and an engineering degree may have different subject requirements.

Health & life sciences

Health & life sciences

Explore patient care, rehabilitation, laboratory science, nutrition and biological research.

Clinical · Allied health · Research

Some routes to explore

  • Medicine & dentistry
  • Nursing & allied health
  • Pharmacy where eligible
  • Life sciences & biotechnology

A small experiment

Speak with professionals in two different healthcare roles about their training and daily work.

Verify current entrance rules, recognised qualifications and registration requirements for each profession.

Business & finance

Business, finance & economics

Compare broad business degrees with analytical economics, accounting and professional pathways.

Undergraduate study · Professional routes

Some routes to explore

  • Business & management
  • Commerce & accounting
  • Economics & analytics
  • Professional qualifications

A small experiment

Analyse a company or build a simple budget and explain your decisions.

Check Mathematics requirements, professional-body rules, duration, exam stages and training commitments.

People & society

Law, people & public life

Explore how societies work and how people learn, think, communicate and make decisions.

Humanities · Law · Social sciences

Some routes to explore

  • Law
  • Psychology & social sciences
  • Education & development
  • Public policy & humanities

A small experiment

Read a case study or research a community problem and propose a practical response.

Look beyond course names: examine curriculum, postgraduate needs and professional eligibility.

Creative & applied

Design, media & experiences

Explore creative and applied careers through portfolios, projects and direct experience.

Design · Communication · Hospitality

Some routes to explore

  • Communication & visual design
  • Film, media & journalism
  • Hospitality & tourism
  • Applied arts & creative business

A small experiment

Create a small portfolio: a poster, a short film, an article or an experience redesign.

Some routes use portfolios or aptitude assessments; others have specific subject or entrance requirements.

Illustrative directions, not individual recommendations. Institutions, boards and professional bodies set specific requirements. Check current official information before choosing subjects or applying.

TURN A BIG DECISION INTO SMALL STEPS

A plan you can
actually work with.

Clarity grows when you gather evidence about yourself and your options. Give yourself permission to learn before you decide.

Prepare for a coaching conversation ↗
  1. 01

    Build a shortlist

Start with two or three course families. Include academic, professional and practical routes where they fit your interests.

  2. 02

    Read beyond the course title

Compare curriculum, teaching, practical exposure, recognition, total costs and further qualifications.

  3. 03

    Map applications

Use each institution’s official admissions page to check eligibility, entrance requirements, documents and deadlines.

  4. 04

    Create a realistic alternative

An alternative is a thoughtful route you would consider, not just an unrelated course chosen in a hurry.

BEYOND THE OBVIOUS

A worthwhile route
can take many forms.

Look beyond degree names.

Two degrees with similar titles can teach different things. Compare modules, assessments, practical work and progression opportunities.

Skills and experience matter too.

Look for practical projects, apprenticeships, recognised diplomas or workplace exposure where appropriate. Verify recognition and progression, just as you would for a degree.

Share your shortlist with your parents first, then your teachers. If questions remain, a conversation with Neeraj can help you explore them.
